Tim Benton (born 21 June 1945, Romecite-ref-1[1]) is Professor Emeritus in the History of Art at the Open University in the UKcite-ref-2[2] as well as a writer and broadcaster. He has also taught at Columbia University, Williams College, and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.cite-ref-3[3] He has written extensively on the modernist architect Le Corbusier.cite-ref-4[4]cite-ref-0-5-0[5] A large collection of photographs by Tim Benton is held in the Courtauld Institute of Art's Conway Library archive,cite-ref-6[6]cite-ref-7[7] which is currently undergoing a digitisation project.cite-ref-8[8]

Tim Benton was educated at the University of Cambridge and the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.cite-ref-9[9]

Benton is a member of the Association for the preservation of "E-1027" designed by Eileen Gray with murals added by Le Corbusier.cite-ref-0-5-1[5] The site includes Le Corbusier's holiday home ("Cabanon de vacances") and the Etoile de Mer restaurant, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France.cite-ref-0-5-2[5]
